For over 30 years The Canmaker Summit has drawn together companies and individuals from the global metal packaging & filling community for an annual meeting, with the objective of exploring business ideas and technology that will drive their operations forward. It is a focal point where ideas are exchanged, current trends are discussed and contacts are made.

The Summit first took place in 1988 in the UK and since then has travelled the world, visiting Japan, UAE, Hong Kong, South & North America and many cities across Europe.

Renowned for its strong line up of speakers and delegates, The Canmaker Summit has a reputation of being much more than just a conference. It is an opportunity to explore the latest industry developments and to join canmakers, fillers and suppliers from around the world and examine current issues that are impacting metal packaging, over two days of meetings, discussions and thought-provoking, topical presentations. Each year the Summit attracts over 150 attendees, it is an opportunity to meet and talk to some of the most dynamic people in the industry.

The Canmaker Summit actively encourages speakers and delegates to meet face-to-face to examine subjects in more detail. Such is the success of this approach that it has resulted in the creation of business alliances and the development of ideas into commercially successful products.

One integral part of The Canmaker Summit is The Canmaker magazine Cans of the Year Awards presentation, where we celebrate and reward the latest developments and innovations that take place within the metal packaging industry each year. Delegates have the opportunity to examine all of the shortlisted cans, vote for the Delegates’ Choice Award and to meet with some of those responsible for their production. The Awards provide an extension to the Summit by highlighting practical applications of the canmakers’ skills coupled with leading technology. Further details can be found on the Awards page.

The Canmaker Summit is exactly what its name suggests; it is an international meeting of like-minded people who come together with a common purpose of sharing their thoughts, their ideas and their desire to improve their businesses.
